With around 10 years of experience tattooing, Floyd first became interested in tattooing while serving in the Marine Corps. He spent much of his free time hanging around tattoo shops and getting tattooed himself, which eventually led him to pursue tattooing as a career. He began his apprenticeship in Asheboro, North Carolina, and has since worked in shops throughout North Carolina, including Jacksonville, where he spent time tattooing fellow Marines, as well as Charlotte and Winston-Salem.
Floyd has also traveled extensively throughout the country, tattooing in multiple states all the way to the West Coast. He is especially drawn to folky and traditional tattoos, and brings a relaxed, thoughtful approach to his work. For him, getting tattooed should be a fun experience, and he enjoys creating tattoos that feel personal while keeping that sense of fun at the center of the process.
When he’s not tattooing, you can usually find him outside—hiking, spending time on the lake, or simply enjoying time outdoors.
